Exploring Strategies to Deal With Trauma
Many of us have lived lives that have a lot of trauma and stress as a result of surviving Residential Schools.
In this workshop we will explore how stress and trauma affects our health and well-being. What are the symptoms of our reactions to stress? We will then explore how our bodies react and how we can use breathe and meditation to assist us to live in the present moment and to manage our stress levels.
I wrote several meditations using First Nations culture and songs and these will be an integral part of the two day experience. We will try several relaxation techniques and the participants will find which technique works for them and a CD of my meditations will be made available so that they are able to incorporate mediation and relaxation technique into their daily lives. You can read more about meditations here.
